Topics in Virology

Course Description:

The class is designed to improve students' presentation skills and ability to critically evaluate current literature. All areas of virology are represented, including animal, plant, and bacterial viruses. Papers chosen for discussion range from pathogenesis to molecular virology. Students will be expected to select, present and critically evaluate one paper per semester. Students may select their own papers with assistance from the instructor. Students are expected to participate in weekly discussions.

Grading:

50% Oral presentation

50% Class participation

Requirements:

Open to all graduate students with interests in virology. Undergraduate students must have permission of the instructor.
