The Tambopata Macaw Project Photo and Sound Gallery.

Please see below for pictures of the most common of the Psittacid species from south-eastern Peru. An important part of the work that the Tambopata Macaw Project hopes to achieve in 2006 is a census to determine the abundance of as many of the species in the area as possible. During a census, most birds are identified by their calls, so learning the sounds are very important. It is highly recommended that you download the calls to listen to them repeatedly to get used to them. We have more cds with more calls at the lodges.
